Ankh, sterling silver twig pendant, twig jewelry with twig bail, made to order
My variation on the Egyptian symbol of eternal life, this ankh is created from a willow twig just bursting into bloom.
The ankh was the Egyptian hieroglyph meaning 'eternal life'. It was used in writings, art, jewelry and is often portrayed in the hands of the gods.
Tiny buds rest gracefully along textured twigs. I made the mold from actual willow twigs then carefully bent and carved them until they assumed the desired form. This ankh is a little more organic and delicate, how I envisioned it would 'grow'.
Cast in sterling silver.
I have blackened the pendant then carefully polished it to bring up the texture.
I love both the front and back so well that I put this on a 20" chain so it could flip back and forth. This version features a little soldered bail made from a twig.
This necklace is made to order, please allow 3-4 weeks for me to make it for you.
A large pendant, this ankh measures 2" long by 1 1/4" wide. Bail is another 10mm.
Due to the high value this ships with insurance and delivery confirmation in the US.
